You can if you wish, but we will vacuum as well - it is included in our pricing.  Reason being, we need to remove as much dry soil as possible as step one in the cleaning process.  Vacuuming also "grooms" (lifting and combing) the carpet fibers which prepares them for the pre-treatment solution.  Performing this step assures you the highest, premium result.  We use commercial grade vacuums with true HEPA filtration. (We are very particular about this, and in fact we use only vacuum machines that have earned the Carpet & Rug Institute Seal of Approval.) 

Cleaning in this manner ensures no "recycling" of dust, dander and allergens during the vacuuming process as HEPA filters traps those tiny particles for permanent deposit into the vac bag - not returned to the air to eventually fall back into your carpet.
